Flat Roof
Although flat roofs aren’t the most attractive option, they have some unique advantages. Flat roofs are not the correct term. Flat roofs can be slightly sloped to prevent runoff and keep water from sitting (though this is not foolproof).
Residential vs. commercial
A residential roof is less popular and more desired than traditional options such as tile, shingle, or metal. Pitched roofs can be more beautiful and convenient than traditional options like tile, shingle, or metal. They can also be customized to suit the homeowner’s taste with a variety of colors and textures. Flat roofing for commercial purposes is much more common than pitched roofing.
Flat roof benefits
- Easy maintenance – Flat surfaces are easier to access than sloped/steep surfaces and allow experts to tackle any problems or repairs more quickly.
- Increased usable space – This is basically an additional level on the building that allows for more equipment to be placed elsewhere. This space can be used in a residential setting to create an outdoor space or garden. There are many options!
- Flat roof installation is easier than other options.
- Flat roofs are usually less expensive than pitched roofs. They also tend to be easier to repair and maintain.
